1 Day intro to bladesmithing
9am - 5pm in my Forge (Close to Temple meads station Bristol)
In this one day course I will guide you through all the processes involved in hand-forging your own knife to take home. You will learn the basic's of forging, heat treating and sharpening your blade.
You will choose from a variety of designs: small bushcraft, steak, pruning and scribing knives and the handles will be shaped from the same piece of steel, which we will adapt for a personal fit. The blade length has to be limited between 5 and 10 cm.
Suitable for those with no previous experience, i will guide you through every step of the process. Spaces are limited to three per workshop so that you can feel taken care of, ask as many questions as you need and have one to one attention at crucial points in the knife making process.
I do love a Sunday fry up, so lunch and drinks will be provided on the day.

*As with blacksmithing, bladesmithing is not an easy craft, we do take every precaution to avoid accidents but expect the odd blister or scratch. Because of this, the workshop is suitable for 18+ or 16+ with an adult.
*Please note we cannot give any refunds within five weeks of the course date.
*recently I had to slightly raise the price of the course to compensate for PayPal charges, there is the option of paying for your booking through bank transfer at a lower price of £125.00 please contact me for further details via email*
