Small Nakiri / Camp

from £220.00

This smaller Nakiri was developed as a compact all-rounder for both kitchen and outdoor cooking. Its broad, almost square profile provides a generous cutting edge without the vulnerability of a pointed tip, making it especially comfortable to use at a campsite, where chopping boards and tables are not always perfectly stable. The defined front corner remains sharp enough for accurate cuts, while the long, flat edge gives excellent board contact for controlled chopping and slicing.

The blade is forged thin for effortless cutting, with a subtle curve near the front to give it a little additional movement when needed. Narrow drawing dies were used during forging to create a pronounced texture along the sides of the blade. These marks have been deliberately retained, giving each knife an individual character while also helping to reduce food sticking during use.

Forged from Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel and hardened to approximately 60 HRC, the blade offers an excellent balance of toughness, edge retention and ease of resharpening. The nitrogen-enriched steel provides additional wear resistance, while its high corrosion resistance makes the knife easier to care for and helps preserve the appearance of the blade over many years. As with any fine cutting tool, wiping it clean and dry after use will help maintain the edge at its best for as long as possible.

The handle is shaped from a single piece of English elm, a subtle but beautifully varied timber with warm yellow tones running through soft greys and silvers. A slim green G10 spacer is set close to the blade, marking the transition where a traditional bolster would normally finish and adding a clean, durable accent to the simple handle construction.Blade length 180mm, blade hight 60mm
